How far is Villa La Estancia from the town of Cabo San Lucas?

Villa La Estancia is an easy 15 minute walk into town. You can also take a quick taxi ride from the lobby of the resort or the public bus stops right at the front of the resort entrance and can take you safely into town.

Is Villa La Estancia located directly on the beach?

Yes, Villa La Estancia is located directly on Medano Bay, the only swimmable beach in Cabo San Lucas.

Are guests allowed use of resort facilities?

Guests are allowed the use of the resort’s facilities, such as gym, tennis courts and resort spa.

Is there a full service spa at Villa La Estancia?

The Desert Spa, a full service spa, is located right next door at our sister resort, Villa Del Arco and is available for guests to book services.

Can cash be used to pay for things at the resort?

All charges made at the resort for incidentals, such as food, drink, etc. must be charged to your villa.  Cash is accepted at check-out for your bill payment.

Is smoking allowed at Villa La Estancia?

Villa La Estancia is a non-smoking resort. All common areas open to the public including pools, Jacuzzis, lobby and walk ways within Villa la Estancia are non-smoking areas
according to Mexican law. Smoking areas have been designated next to the property and at the beach.
We do not allow smoking in our villas.

How far is Villa La Estancia from the airport?

Villa La Estancia is approximately 30 minutes from the San Jose del Cabo (SJD) airport by private transfer.

If using a shared transfer, then the time depends on how many stops the van will make to drop others at their resorts.

How can I get from San Jose del Cabo Airport to Villa La Estancia?

There are several options available:

Private Airport Transfers- This is the quickest way since you can leave the airport as soon as your party is ready. If you would like, you can also make prior arrangements to make a grocery stop on your way to the resort.

Shared Rides- This is not the quickest way, but the least expensive. You will travel in 10-15 person vans, so you may have to wait for others before leaving the airport and may have to make several stops dropping others at their resorts if it is on the way to Villa La Estancia.

Taxi Service- This is the most expensive option but is available from the airport.

Car Rental- All of the major car rental agencies are located at the airport.

Do we need a car to get around in Cabo?

We have never rented a car, the resort is an easy 15 minute walk to town, a quick taxi ride or the public bus is a great option. However, if you decide to rent one, all of the major companies are represented at the airport. If you are looking to make a day trip, Hertz has a location at Villa La Estancia.  Complimentary parking is included in the rental.

Is there any need to exchange US dollars for pesos?

No, since credit cards are widely excepted in Mexico. Be sure to ask your credit card company if there are any additional fees.

You will need cash for a few things such as riding in a taxi, taking the public bus, souvenir shopping with the local vendors and tipping. You may want to exchange some money for this to get the best exchange rate.

What is the legal drinking age in Mexico?

The legal drinking age in Mexico is 18 years old.
